In the PastGreat White Sharks have been around the Earth seas for a long time and have evolved from the Carcharodon Megalodon which was essentially a bigger version of the great white shark. During all this time the what is now the Great White Shark has evolved and adapted to many things. Here I will be talking about adaptations that have happened in the past up to this point.

Adaptations:
The great white Shark has adapted to its environment in the ocean by evolving better senses to be able to hunt and kill prey with more ease. Their sight and smell have evolved over generations and sharks are able to smell things from afar and are able to clearly see things if they are close enough. They have also evolved the ability to pick up electronic signals. Every movement gives off an electric signal, even the heartbeat of a fish. If the sharks are close enough they are able to pick up on it and hunt the fish. Greta white sharks rarely have to avoid any predators as their only real predator is the Orca and these two species rarely meet. The great white sharks offspring are able to mature inside the mothers body until they are big enough to survive on the outside which gives them a large advantage over other species which are born barely developed and have not had the time the sharks had to develop before being born in the wild. The sharks teeth are remarkable as well as they have many rows of teeth which are constantly replaced to make sure the sharks are able to hunt and eat enough.
The great whites ancestors, the Megalodon was actually a lot larger than the great white shark, the Great white has evolved to be smaller as their prey has gotten smaller but faster so the large sharks had a hard time catching the quick prey giving the smaller specimen better chances of survival leading to a smaller, quicker shark after some generations.
Great Whites have also evolved a few protective features like being able to roll their eyes back to protect them when making an attack or having a very sensitive snout so they are able to flee dangers quickly. All in all, Great Whites have developed their senses to a very high level which helped them survive and establish themselves at the top of the food chain over time.
