Great White Sharks live in the coastal regions of all major oceans, they mostly live in temperate waters and only very rarely in tropical water.
Great Whites have one of the widest habitat ranges of all fish. Their habitat is largely dependent upon where there is the most abundant food source. Some Great White Sharks have been tracked to travel long distances and cross oceans several times. In recent years we have learnt more and more about the migration of Great Whites with better tracking technology and more and more individuals being tagged. The female great white shark "Lydia" has been tracked to travel 56'000 km in a span of two years across the atlantic ocean towards Europe and West Africa and back to the coast of Florida.
Great White Sharks mostly swim surface waters but have been know to dive over 900 meters deep.
